We continue to see lots of interest in what's called Soft Shell garments. Soft Shell is an outerwear garment which takes the place of your shell. It is typically made of a polyester / lycra blend and bonded to fleece on the inside. It's stretchy, warm, quiet, highly wind resistant, water resistant, abrasion resistant and still breathable. It's not just for rough weather, although it works great in it. It bridges the gap between comfort and performance, providing extra protection for those days when you're out longer and it's colder. SoftShell works well against the elements and the special construction works and moves effortlessly with you. It looks good too! We see it being used for many winter activities including back country skiing, snowshoeing, ski touring, winter walking. We also see it being worn casually in place of a fleece jacket because it is more wind resistant.
