Founded in 1996 by University of Maryland football player, Kevin Plank, UNDER ARMOUR all started with a simple plan to make a better t-shirt. This t-shirt would be one that provided compression and wicked perspiration off your skin rather than absorbing it. This t-shirt would also work with your body to regulate temperatures and enhance performance by keeping you comfortable,dry and light during the course of the game, race, tour, workout or practice. The fabric for this type of wicking shirt is similar to some that we have already seen in the Cross Country Ski Business. UNDER ARMOUR, besides creating quality compression fitting, wicking, temperature regulating, comfortable garments for cold weather sports, has also let the world know how well they work through fantastic marketing.
New for Fall 2010 is EVO ColdGear, the latest innovation of their cold weather base layer. Under Armour has enhanced the construction of their ColdGear fabric. The exterior is slicker, (more slippery) providing improved mobility when layering and the interior is brushed so it feels softer next to the skin. They've added ArmourBlock, an antimicrobial which neutralizes the microbes that cause odor, to make it one of the most technically advanced base layers on the market. EVO ColdGear is fitted, but not compression, for "warmth without the squeeze."

UA EVO COLDGEAR is 7.09 oz 89% polyester, 11% elastane. This stretchy, fabric allows maximum range of motion while locking in body heat snd accellerating moisture transfer to keep you dry. It is brushed for softness on the inside, transports moisture to keep you dry and traps heat to keep you warm. Thin thermal construction provides warmth without weight.

The 2.0 is Under Armour's most versatile UA BASE. It's ideal for cooler conditions and a variety of activity levels. The mid-weight ColdGear® grid fabric is engineered for heat-trapping core temperature and fast drying moisture transport, which makes it ideal for XC skiing. It's built with flatlock seams that feel smooth against the skin and prevent chafing.
